Artist and comic strip author trained at the Ecole des Beaux-Arts in Geneva , Zep began his career at the Spirou newspaper and Fuide Glacial. In 1992, he created the character of Titeuf, an 8-year-old kid with a big blond lock of hair, who tries to make sense of the world around him with a wry sense of humor. Titeuf quickly became one of the biggest publishing successes of the last 30 years, and was soon adapted into an animated film. Titeuf tackles every subject, from the most trivial to the most complicated, and enjoys a cross-generational following. A rock fan (his pseudonym is inspired by Led Zepplin) and member of the band Brück Brück, then The Woohoo, Zep also writes songs, autobiographical stories and travelogues. In 2019, he signed the cover of Renaud's album “Les Mômes et les enfants d'abord”. That same year, a bronze statue of Titeuf was inaugurated in the courtyard of the Jacques Dalphin school in Carouge (Geneva). This school inspired the character of Titeuf to the artist  whose atelier is just nearby.
