Lives and works in Switzerland
Zep studied at the Geneva School of Fine Arts

Zep is an artist and comic book author. He began his career at the Spirou newspaper and Fluide Glacial magazine. In 1992, he created the character Titeuf, based on his notebooks and childhood memories. His albums have been hugely successful and have been translated worldwide. Titeuf has been adapted into an animated film. In 2004, he received the Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême for his entire career and presided over the Angoulême Festival in 2005. In 2010, the Museum of Design and Applied Arts in Lausanne dedicated a retrospective to him. Subsequently, while continuing to tell the stories of Titeuf, he published works aimed at an adult audience. He produced albums of more autobiographical, intimate stories, as well as albums of eco-political science fiction stories.

Zep said: ‘You don't do this job to get rich (...), if that's what you want, you're better off being a trader. Being a comic book author is a job you do for pleasure, it's an adventure.'
