Patrice Killoffer is a comic book author and illustrator. In 1990, he co-founded L'Association, a publishing house that revolutionized the codes of comic books in Europe and published some of his albums. He has been a member of OuBaPo (Ouvroir de Bande dessinée Potentielle) since 1992. His graphic novels are often autobiographical, mainly in black and white, sometimes in color when he collaborates with a scriptwriter. He creates illustrations for daily newspapers such as Libération and Le Monde and for the weekly magazine La Vie, and in 2006 he illustrated the songs on Renaud's album Rouge Sang. He received the award for best album at the Angoulême Festival in 2003 and the Töppfer Prize from the City of Geneva in 2015. He exhibits in France and internationally.
Patrice Killoffer said: “The comic strip format calls for constraints: the page, the panel, the double page, the book, the text, the drawing. There are millions of ways to play with that. It's a wonderful playground.”
