Lives and works in Arcueil
Since the 1990s, Françoise Pétrovitch has been shaping some of the most powerful work on the French art scene. Among the many techniques she uses - ceramics, glass, washes, painting, printmaking and video - drawing holds a special place. Her work reveals an ambiguous, often transgressive world of intimacy, fragment, disappearance, double, transition and cruelty. Monographic exhibitions are regularly devoted to her work, most recently at the FHEL, the Bibliothèque nationale de France and the Musée de la Vie romantique in Paris. Françoise Elle also creates mionumental wall drawings for theater, dance and opera. The Mo.co. Montpellier is curently staging a major retrospective of her work !
