David Prudhomme studied comic book art at the Angoulême school.
David Prudhomme is a comic book artist. He creates fluid line drawings, in which he works with light and nuance. His style varies deliberately, depending on the scenarios, novels, and great works of literature, or sometimes relates to autobiographical elements. He collaborates with various comic book authors, notably Pascal Rabaté. Since 2010, his work has been recognized in France and internationally, and he has received numerous awards. In 2010, he won the Regards sur le monde prize at the Angoulême International Comics Festival, the Lire prize for best comic book of the year, the Ouest-France/ Quai des Bulles prize at the Saint-Malo festival, the prize for Best Comic Book Adaptable to Film at the Monaco International Film and Literature Forum, and the Best Foreign Edition prize at the Comicdom festival in Athens. In 2012, he received the Töpffer prize from the city of Geneva, and in 2021, the RTL Grand Prize for Comic Books.
