Lives and works between Bordeaux and Paris
Winshluss is a major figure iof the independent French comics scene. His work is an acerbic critique of contemporary society. In 2008, he was awarded a Fauve d'Or at the Angoulême International Comics Festival. He has also made animated movies for the cinema, notably Persépolis with Marjane Satrapi, winner of the Grand Jury Prize at the Cannes Film Festival in 2007, and Angelo dans la forêt in 2024. In 2024, he won the Grand Prix Töpffer de la bande dessinée.
