Lives and works in Paris
Yann Kebbi studied at the École Estienne and the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
Yann Kebbi is a painter, draughtsman and illustrator. He uses a variety of techniques in his paintings and drawings, including engraving, monotype, collage and photography. Every day, he fills sketchbooks with drawings and records his daily life, his surroundings and his travels. He produces illustrations for the press, notably for The New Yorker and The Guardian, and collaborates with film directors. He exhibits internationally and collaborates regularly with the Fondation Cartier. From 2022 to 2025, he documented Jean Nouvel's construction site for the new Fondation Cartier in Paris, translating the subjects (‘spaces, works and audiences') into drawings that were exhibited in the Valois Gallery.
Yann Kebbi said: ‘I treat each drawing as an end in itself, as a work of art in its own right. And I wanted there to be a very simple obviousness, so that everyone could relate to a common subject, like Proust's madeleines.'
