Lives and works in Paris
Olivier Masmonteil is a globe-trotting painter whose landscapes, painted from memory, are like cartographies of fleeting sensations and memories. Since 2012, he has been working on series in which he revisits the collective memory forged by art history. In these paintings, he pays tribute to the great classical masters by reinterpreting their techniques and themes. Recently, he took part in the Immortelle exhibition at the MOCO in Montpellier and the Journée des Peintres at the Musée d'Orsay in Paris.
